Posted June 28, 2020 07:37:18A new PS4 system update on Friday added a new option for users to disable notifications on their TV set.
A new option called “Hide All” will turn off notifications for TV shows and movies, but it’s not clear how to turn it on for apps or other media.
The option appears to be a simple switch for users, but there are a couple of caveats.
First, it will only be available on PS4 models running a new build of Sony’s new PlayStation Pro console.
The company says it has yet to get a confirmation from consumers that this is the case.
Second, there’s no indication that this feature will work on PS5, PS6, or PS7, but that’s probably for the best.
For now, users can only turn this option on on their television set, as the feature isn’t available on the PlayStation Store or any other platform.
Here’s what you need to know about the new PS5 notification option:If you want to disable notification sounds on your TV, you’ll need to use the “Hide” button on the notification bar on your PS4 or PS5 system.
If you don’t want to enable notifications on your television, you can still turn it off via Settings > System > Notifications.
For users who want to turn off the notifications on other devices, the new option will disable them for games and apps on their device.
However, it’s unclear whether this will work with the new Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo consoles.
